The Ukrainian Association of Research Biobanks (UARB) is a professional association dedicated to advancing biobanking and strengthening research infrastructure in Ukraine. As a professional network uniting domestic biobanks, research institutions, healthcare providers and international stakeholders, UARB is dedicated to elevating Ukrainian biomedical research to global quality standards.

By fostering cross-border collaboration and robust data sharing, the Association serves as a key bridge connecting Ukrainian researchers with the broader European scientific community. Key priorities for UARB include:

  • Capacity building & professional training: Empowering Ukrainian researchers and biobank managers through specialised training, knowledge exchange and technical expertise in biospecimen management 
  • Standardisation & quality management: Elevating national biobanking protocols to align with international regulatory and ethical standards
  • International collaboration: Integrating Ukraine’s scientific capabilities into the European Research Area (ERA) and collaborative health initiatives
