SUMMARY:A guided walk through CEN/TS 17626:2021 for microbiome DNA analysis
DESCRIPTION:The webinar will take place on 14 September 2026\, 11:30-12:45 CEST \nATTENTION: \n\nRegistration is open until the end of the business day on 9 September 2026.\nTo attend the live webinar\, participants must possess a copy of CEN/TS 17626:2021 for licensing purposes.\n\nSummary: \n\nThe webinar series is held in the context of the EU project CaBRIOH and co-organised by CaBRIOH project partner Medical University of Graz (BBMRI.at coordinator) and the BBMRI-ERIC Academy. It focuses on the European Technical Specification “Molecular in vitro diagnostic examinations – Specifications for pre-examination processes for human specimen – Isolated microbiome DNA”. It gives insight into the document clause by clause and provides as background information scientific evidence and rational as well as practical tips for users of CEN/TS 17626. \nPart 1: Clause 1 “Scope”\, Clause 4 “General considerations” \n  \n\nSpeaker \nDr. Uwe Oelmueller \nHost \nDr. Maike Tauchert \nAfter watching the webinar\, participants will have acquired the following knowledge:\n\nUnderstand why a dedicated pre-analytical standard for microbiome DNA analysis is needed\, and what it can and cannot deliver\nHow scientific evidence drives the development of standards\nNavigate the structure\, scope\, and normative language of CEN/TS 17626:2021\nGeneral requirements for examination (analytical test) workflow developments\, and how to use pre-examination workflow components (e.g. collection devices\, nucleic acid isolation) for in vitro diagnostic (IVD) examination and for laboratories’ own developments\n“Specification”\, “verification” and “validation”- how they build the backbone for IVD product and laboratories’ own developments\nUnderstand the role of risk management for IVD products and for laboratories’ own developments\nDifferent responsibilities for IVD developers & manufacturers\, and for medical laboratories developing own procedures\n\nRegister here!
