Task Force Societal Issues

Mission Statement

The mission of the TF Societal Issues is to provide reliable, feasible and practical knowledge on social matters related to biobanking for the immediate benefit of the community. In building on state-of-the-art research and in learning from best practices, the Task Force develops practical guidance for current challenges in the field.

A previous activity of the TF was the successful completion of the “Data in Question” survey (published in PLOS ONE), which builds the basis for the How-to Guide: Governance in Biobanking. The findings of the survey are currently deepened in a qualitative follow-up study.


Members of the TF Societal Issues

The TF consists of experts from BBMRI National Nodes and beyond. Their expertise encompasses a wide range of topics in the field of ethics and social sciences.
